Arguments
Each page here makes one argument, to someone who disagrees, in language you could repeat out loud. Each ends by naming the premises you can reject and what rejecting them costs — because an argument that cannot tell you where to get off is not an argument, it is a demand.

Why I don't think you can justify having a child to the child
I think choosing to have a child is a choice you cannot justify to the child, because at the moment you make it there is nobody there to give the reason to, and everything you would offer as the reason exists only because you went ahead.
Why I think even the kindest farm still can't be justified to the animals in it
I think that improving how farmed animals are treated cannot settle whether they may be owned, bred and killed for our purposes, because that is a question about the shape of the arrangement rather than about how much they suffer inside it.
Why I think winning the argument never settles what you owe the person it cost
Being right about a decision does not settle what you owe the person who bore its cost: either you have something to say to them about their own loss, or they were wronged — and a wrong owes more.
